Annotations

Draw arrows, shapes, text, and blurs on your captures — then copy or save with annotations included.

Annotated captures are composited at full resolution before copying or saving. An orange dot on the thumbnail shows which captures have unsaved changes. The app prompts you to save before quitting.

How to use it

  1. Open a capture in the editor.
  2. Draw annotations using the toolbar tools — or right-click the canvas for quick access to all tools plus Undo, Redo, and Delete.
  3. Copy with annotations: Press Ctrl+C or click Copy to Clipboard in the ribbon — the composited image (screenshot + annotations) goes to the clipboard.
  4. Paste an image as a new capture: Press Ctrl+V in the Captures workspace to paste any image from the clipboard as a new entry.
  5. Save (overwrite): Press Ctrl+S — silently overwrites the existing file on disk. For new captures not yet saved to disk, Ctrl+S opens the Save dialog.
  6. Save As: Press Ctrl+Shift+S to always open the Save dialog and choose a filename.
  7. Save All: Use File → Save All (or the Save All ribbon button) to save every capture with unsaved changes.

Full-pane canvas (F11)

Press F11 to expand the canvas to fill the entire Captures workspace — the thumbnail strip and sidebar hide. Press F11 again or Esc to restore.

Session auto-edit

When you switch to the Captures workspace, if captures were taken earlier in this session, the newest one is automatically selected and the editor tab opens — no extra click needed.

Session view

The capture list defaults to This Session — showing only captures taken since the app started. Switch to All in the tree to see older captures.

Tips & gotchas

  • If Save to Disk is off in settings, captures exist only in memory and are lost when the app closes. A warning appears in the quit prompt.
  • Undoing all annotations back to a clean state clears the orange dot — no save prompt.
  • The quit prompt lets you save each dirty capture individually. Skip discards the changes for that capture; Cancel stops the quit entirely.
