OCR Feedback
A toast notification tells you exactly what happened after every OCR capture.

After drawing an OCR selection, a toast appears in the main window showing how many characters were extracted — or a clear error message if something went wrong.
What the toasts mean
| Toast | Meaning |
|---|---|
"OCR: 142 characters copied to clipboard" |
Success — extracted text is on the clipboard |
"OCR: no text found in selection" |
The selected area contained no readable text |
"OCR language pack not installed…" |
The language pack needs to be downloaded first |
| Tesseract error message | Something went wrong with the OCR engine |
Success toasts disappear after 3 seconds. Error toasts stay for 6 seconds.
The clipboard is only updated if at least one character was found — empty results do not overwrite what was there before.
The extracted text is also saved as a clip in your clipboard history (source: “Blue Synergy · OCR”).
Tips & gotchas
- The toast appears in the main window (Captures tab), not in the capture selector — the selector is already hidden when OCR runs.
- If you see the language pack toast, go to Settings → Captures → OCR and download the pack.
- OCR can be disabled entirely via the Enabled checkbox in Settings → Captures → OCR — the hotkey is unregistered immediately when you turn it off.
