Export Clips

Save one or more clips as files on your computer.

Text clips export as .txt files. Image clips export as .jpg, .png, or .bmp. You pick the destination folder, the naming strategy, and any options — Blue Synergy remembers your last folder.

How to use it

Export selected clips:

  1. Select one or more clips (Ctrl+Click for multiple).
  2. Right-click → Export…
  3. Choose a destination folder.
  4. Pick a naming strategy (see below).
  5. Set image format and options if needed.
  6. Click OK.

Export all visible clips (filtered/searched view):

  • Use File → Export… with no selection active. The dialog opens with all clips currently shown.

Export respects multi-selection:

  • If 2 or more clips are selected, File → Export… exports only those clips — not the entire view.
  • To always export all visible clips, deselect first (click an empty area).

Naming strategies

Strategy Result
Sequential 0001.txt, 0002.txt, …
Serial number Uses the clip’s internal number — 0000247.txt
Clip title Based on the clip’s title or first line — Darwin_Award_Winner.txt
Ask for name A Windows save dialog opens for each clip so you name it manually

With Ask for name and more than 20 clips, a confirmation prompt appears first. Canceling any dialog stops the entire export.

Image format options

Format Notes
JPG Smaller files, quality adjustable (1–100, default 80)
PNG Lossless, larger files
BMP Uncompressed Windows bitmap

Text clips always export as .txt regardless of this setting.

Tips & gotchas

  • If a file with the same name already exists, a suffix is added automatically (_2, _3, …).
  • The destination folder is created automatically if it doesn’t exist.
  • Clear folder before export deletes only direct files in the folder — subfolders are left untouched.
  • Open folder after export opens Windows Explorer at the export destination.
  • The OK button stays disabled until a folder is selected and at least one clip is in the export list.
