Split Clips

Split one text clip into multiple clips using a separator.

Type the separator — a line of dashes, a semicolon, a double line break — and Blue Synergy creates a new clip for each fragment. The original clip is kept untouched.

How to use it

  1. Select a single text clip.
  2. Click the Split button in the toolbar, or right-click → Split…
  3. Type the separator in the input field that appears (e.g., ---, ;, \n\n).
  4. Press Enter or click Split.
  5. New clips are created for each non-empty fragment.

Press Esc to close the input without splitting.

Tips & gotchas

  • Split only works on a single text clip — not on image clips or multi-selections.
  • At least 2 non-empty fragments must result, otherwise an error is shown.
  • Leading and trailing whitespace in each fragment is preserved — trim manually in the editor if needed.
  • The original clip is not deleted.
  • New clips get source Blue Synergy · Split — find them with *source=Split.
