Object Capture

Screenshot a single on-screen element — one button, toolbar, or panel — just by pointing at it. As you move the mouse, a highlight snaps to the exact UI element under your cursor; click to capture only that element. No dragging a rectangle, no grabbing the whole window.

How to use it

  1. Start Object mode one of two ways:
    • Click the ◎ Object button in the Capture ribbon, or
    • Press Ctrl+Alt+U from anywhere.
  2. Move the mouse over the program you want. A highlight follows the cursor and hugs the element beneath it (a button, a list row, a panel…).
  3. Left-click to capture the highlighted element. It opens in the capture editor, ready to annotate or save.
  4. Press Esc or right-click to cancel without capturing.

Your confirming click is consumed by Blue Synergy, so clicking to capture a button won’t also press it.

Tips & gotchas

  • One element at a time. Object Capture grabs the single deepest element under the cursor. Widening the selection to a parent (the whole toolbar instead of one button) is planned for a later version.
  • If a program exposes no element info, the highlight falls back to the whole window under the cursor — so you always get something sensible to capture.
  • Display scaling (125% / 150%) and multiple monitors are fully supported; the saved image matches the highlighted element on any monitor.
  • Only one Object session runs at a time — pressing the hotkey again while it’s active does nothing.
