Auto-Save Edits
Your edits save automatically — you never lose a change by clicking away too fast.

Edit any text clip in the preview pane, then click another clip or anywhere outside the editor. Your changes are saved before the new clip loads — no save button needed.
How it works
Edits save through three paths — all automatic:
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| You click another clip | Edit saves before the new clip loads |
| You click outside the editor (toolbar, tree, status bar) | Edit saves on focus loss |
| You pause typing for 500ms | Auto-save timer fires |
All three guarantee your edit is persisted. You don’t need to do anything.
Tips & gotchas
- Image clips cannot be edited — auto-save only applies to text clips.
- Clips that are masked by a retention rule are read-only and don’t trigger saves.
- The 500ms pause timer still applies for normal typing — saves don’t fire on every single keystroke.
- If you edit a clip and immediately switch to a different folder or group, your edit is still saved first.
