Deduplication & Source App
Blue Synergy automatically skips duplicate copies and records which app you copied from.

If you copy the same text twice in a row, only one clip is saved. Each clip also shows the application it came from, so you can filter and search by source.
How to use it
Both features work automatically — no setup needed.
Deduplication: When you copy the same content twice consecutively, the second copy is silently ignored. Copy something different and then copy the original again — that creates a new clip.
Source App column: The Source column in the clips table shows where each clip came from. Right-click the column header to show or hide it.
Filter by app:
- Click By App in the left tree to browse clips grouped by source application.
- In the search bar, type
*source=Chrome(or*app=VS Code) to filter to clips from that app.
Tips & gotchas
- Only consecutive duplicates are skipped. If you copy A, then B, then A again — all three are saved.
- Occasionally an overlay tool (like ZoomIt) may appear as the source if it holds the window focus.
- If an app doesn’t report a clipboard owner window (rare), Blue Synergy falls back to whichever app was in the foreground.
