Tray Update Badge
An orange dot on the tray icon tells you an update is waiting — even when the window is minimized.

When Blue Synergy finds a newer version in the background, it paints a small orange dot in the top-right corner of the tray icon. The tray tooltip also changes to “Blue Synergy — Update available”.
How it works
No action needed. Within 10 seconds of startup, Blue Synergy checks for updates silently. If a newer version is available:
- An orange dot appears on the tray icon.
- The tray tooltip changes to “Blue Synergy — Update available”.
- If the main window is open, an update banner also appears at the top of the window.
To clear the badge: dismiss the update banner in the main window, or install the update from Help → Check for Updates.
Tips & gotchas
- The badge only appears when a newer version is actually available — it won’t show for the same version you already dismissed.
- If the update server is unreachable at startup, no badge appears and no error is shown.
- The badge is painted on the tray icon at runtime — no separate image file needed.
