Update Notifications
Blue Synergy checks for updates automatically and lets you know when one is ready.

A banner appears at the top of the main window when a newer version is available. The system tray icon gets an orange dot so you know even when the window is minimized.
How it works
Automatic check: Blue Synergy checks for a new version 10 seconds after startup — no action needed.
Banner: If a newer version is found, a banner appears: “Blue Synergy X.Y.Z is available”
- Click Update Now to open the Updates dialog with the changelog and a download button.
- Click Dismiss to hide the banner. It won’t reappear for that version.
Download & install: In the Updates dialog, click Download & Install. A progress bar shows the download in real time (percentage and MB transferred). A Cancel button lets you stop mid-download. Once downloaded, Blue Synergy installs the update and restarts automatically — you don’t need to relaunch manually.
Tray badge: An orange dot on the tray icon signals an available update even when the window is closed. It clears when you dismiss the banner or install the update.
Manual check: Open Help → Check for Updates at any time.
Version History
Help → Check for Updates also shows:
- What’s New — releases newer than your installed version
- Version History — full release history with formatted notes
Tips & gotchas
- The banner is suppressed after you dismiss it — you won’t see it again for the same version, even after restarting.
- If the update server is unreachable at startup, no error is shown.
- After install, Blue Synergy relaunches automatically — no manual restart needed.
- The download can be cancelled mid-way; your existing version keeps running normally.
